The Express Indy South location of Express Employment Professionals, a full-service employment agency, began in 2005 with only three employees and quickly earned the Fast Track Award in its first six months of operations. In 2006, Express Indy was included in the Fab 5 as an office that was the 4th Fastest Growing Office in the country. The company went on in 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010 to receive various Circle of Excellence designations. By 2011, Express Indy South was awarded the Franchisee of the Year Award.

Still, by fall 2008, the recession hit Express Indy with a decrease in business of more than 40% in less than six weeks. The company had just hired two new employees prior to the recession to handle the growth and then had to let both of them go in January of 2009. With a change of focus to training for a time, core employees were retained and staff was added in late 2009 as work rebounded. Express Indy was able to put many people to work in 2009 during a time when jobs were very hard to come by, finishing 2009 only down 20% during the worst recession seen in years. By 2010, the company saw a greater than 38% growth. Staff decided not to accept the things that they could not control during the recession and focused on working hard to help both their clients and people in the community.

Express Indy South partners locally with The Refuge and Riley Children’s Hospital, and assists students in the local community develop the skills to succeed in the “real world” after graduation, including students at Center Grove High School, Greenwood High School and the University of Indianapolis.

Other local charitable involvement includes Johnson County Community Foundation, Greenwood Christian Business Men, Boy Scouts of America, Greenwood Chamber of Commerce, Franklin Chamber of Commerce, United Way, Corporate Cup Challenge, Employment Networking Group at Mount Pleasant Christian Church, Habitat for Humanity Johnson County, Business and Professional Exchange, JCERRA, Blue River SHRM, and Leadership Johnson County.

Express Employment Professionals located in Greenwood has named Erin Pardue as their newest Recruiting and Marketing Specialist. Erin will be responsible for the coordination of marketing and recruiting efforts for the Indy South office. Erin’s recruiting and marketing efforts will also include Chamber events, local networking opportunities, community events and job fairs.

Erin is a graduate of Indiana University with a Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications with a focus in marketing and advertising. Since graduation, Erin has worked in Marketing at a local casino, where she gained experience in advertising, direct mail, promotions and database management. “Erin brings us experience that will help her recruit great people. She will be a great asset to helping as many people as possible find jobs at great clients in our local community.” said Mike Heffner, franchise owner. Erin resides in her hometown of Indianapolis with her husband, Josh.
